Guarding & Response

Crowd control

Planned crowd management for events, with the personnel each event requires.

Security officers in high-visibility vests managing a queue at crowd barriers

Planned crowd management for events and busy occasions: managing entry and queues, keeping exits and routes clear, and supporting the organisers and venue staff on the day. Most crowd problems begin with a queue that moves too slowly or a route that is blocked; good planning prevents both.

Before the event we agree with you the numbers expected, the layout and the personnel required, so everyone knows their role and where to stand.

What it includes

  • Entry management: queues, barriers and the flow of people into the venue
  • Exits, routes and emergency lanes kept clear throughout
  • Officers placed where crowds build up: gates, stages, bars and car parks
  • Officers in high-visibility vests, easy for the public to find
  • Coordination with the organisers, the venue staff and the emergency services
  • An orderly exit at the end

How it works

  1. We study the venue layout and the numbers expected.
  2. We plan the barriers, routes and posts with you.
  3. Officers are briefed on the plan and their positions.
  4. A supervisor leads on the day and moves officers as the crowd moves.

Questions clients ask

How many officers will we need?

That depends on the numbers expected, the layout and the kind of event. We work it out with you from the venue visit, and explain the numbers in the plan.

Can you help at short notice?

Tell us as soon as you can. We will say plainly what can be planned and staffed in the time.
